Prime Minister inaugurates July Memorial Museum

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman inaugurated the much-awaited July Memorial Museum today (Wednesday, 5 August) at Sher-e-Banglanagar in the capital.

Prime Minister inaugurated the museum while attended the ceremony as the chief guest.

Former Interim government’s Chief Adviser Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus also was attended the event.

State Minister for Cultural Affairs Nitai Roy Chowdhury among others were present.

The museum will remain open only to special guests and family members of the July martyrs and journalists on its opening day. It will be opened to the general public from Thursday.

During the inauguration, the Prime Minister will visit the museum’s galleries, which feature documents, photographs, and other exhibits highlighting the July Uprising.

July warriors and family members of the martyrs will share their memories and experiences of the July Uprising at the inaugural event.

The programme will also include a documentary screening on the July Uprising, followed by cultural performances.

An online ticketing system has been introduced for visitors. Admission has been set at Tk 50 for adults and Tk 25 for children.
