HSC exams postponed across districts under Chattogram Board on Wednesday

The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations scheduled for Wednesday have been postponed across all districts under the Chattogram Education Board due to the worsening flood situation in the region.
The decision was announced in an emergency notice issued by the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee around 1:00am on Wednesday (July 8).
According to the notice, considering the deteriorating flood conditions and reports submitted by the deputy commissioners, all HSC and equivalent examinations under the Chattogram Education Board have been suspended. The postponement also applies to examinations conducted by the Bangladesh Madrasah Education Board and the Bangladesh Technical Education Board within the jurisdiction of the Chattogram Education Board, including Alim, HSC (BMT), HSC (Vocational) and Diploma in Commerce examinations for 2026.
The notice further said that examinations under all other general education boards, as well as the Madrasah and Technical Education Boards outside the Chattogram Education Board's jurisdiction, will be held as scheduled.
The emergency notice, signed by Professor Syed Amiruzzaman, President of the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee and Chairman of the Dhaka Education Board, said that a revised schedule for the postponed examinations will be announced later.
Earlier, authorities had announced the suspension of examinations only in Chattogram, Rangamati, and Cox's Bazar districts. However, considering the severity of the flood situation, the decision has now been expanded to cover all districts under the Chattogram Education Board.
