Kader Gani Chowdhury appointed BSS MD and Chief Editor

Muhammad Kader Gani Chowdhury, Secretary General of the Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) and Member Secretary of the Bangladesh Sammilito Peshajibi Parishad, has been appointed on a contractual basis as the Managing Director and Chief Editor of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS).

The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification to this effect on Thursday (27 August) from its Contract and Foreign Employment Branch.

According to the notification, Muhammad Kader Gani Chowdhury has been appointed as the Managing Director and Chief Editor of BSS on a contractual basis for one year from the date of his joining, in accordance with Section 10(1) of the Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha Act, 2018.

As a condition of the appointment, however, he will have to relinquish any other profession, business, or employment with any government, semi-government or private institution or organisation.

The notification further stated that he will perform his duties in accordance with the prescribed conditions and applicable rules and regulations.

Kader Gani Chowdhury has been involved in journalism for a long time. He is currently serving as the Secretary General of the Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists.
