Nearly 300 died from dengue this year in Bangladesh including the new four death from the disease in the last 24 years.

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has said four people died of dengue and 1,631 were hospitalised with the aedes mosquito-borne disease in the last 24 hours till 8:00am on Saturday (10 October).

With the development, the country has recorded 299 deaths from dengue this year.

Amog the new dengue cases, 703 were recorded in Dhaka division, 61 in Mymensingh division, 234 in Chattogram division, 184 in Khulna division, 141 in Rajshahi division, 75 in Rangpur division, 219 in Barishal division and 14 in Sylhet division.

A total of 97,082 dengue patients have so far been hospitalized across the country this year, according to the DGHS report.

However, in the last 24 hours, 1,627 patients recovered and were discharged from hospitals.

So far, 91,007 dengue patients have recovered and returned home after receiving treatment this year.

As per the data, a total of 102,861 people were infected with dengue in the last year had claimed 413 lives across the country.
