Bangladesh to purchase 10 Airbus planes after 25 Boeing aircraft

The Bangladesh government has decided to purchase 10 Airbus aircraft from European manufacturers after finalizing plans to buy 25 Boeing aircraft from the US-based plane manufacturer.

Aviation and Tourism Minister M Rashiduzzaman Millat revealed the decision on Tuesday (29 September), saying a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the Airbus purchase may be signed in October.

Biman Bangladesh Airlines signed an MoU with Boeing on September 24 to purchase 11 aircraft from the US company.

Earlier, the government signed a $3.7 billion deal to purchase 14 aircraft from Boeing.

With the latest agreement, plans to purchase a total of 25 Boeing aircraft have been finalized.
