Nahid Hasan, a widely discussed content creator on the Facebook-based platform UjanTV, submitted the application at noon on Thursday (27 August).

Nur Mohammad, an inspector at Savar Model Police Station, accepted the application. Confirming the matter, a police source said Sub-Inspector (SI) Al Amin had been assigned to investigate the allegations.

Police said the allegations have been taken seriously and that further legal action will be taken following an investigation.

SI Al Amin told Asia Post that he had been assigned to investigate the matter.

“I’ll start working soon. I have called him to the police station. After hearing the details, further legal procedures will be initiated,” he said.

The officer-in-charge (OC) of the police station told Asia Post that Nahid Hasan had submitted the application outlining his allegations. He said SI Al Amin had been assigned to investigate the matter.

“The matter will become clear through the investigation,” the OC said.

Earlier, on Wednesday ( 26August), Nahid Hasan alleged that Miltan Samadder and his associates assaulted him after disconnecting the electricity at Samadder’s organisation when Nahid took an elderly woman there seeking shelter.

Nahid also alleged that Miltan forcibly made him give a statement saying that he had not demanded money from Nahid in exchange for providing shelter to the woman.
