Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury has cancelled several scheduled engagements after feeling unwell.

The minister’s Assistant Private Secretary Mohammad Selim told media that he was receiving treatment at home.

Speaking on Sunday (13 September) night, Selim said, “He had been suffering from a cough for some time, but it has intensified over the past two days. That is why sir said he is taking antibiotics. He is feeling a bit weak.”

The inauguration ceremony of the Dhaka Taxes Bar Association’s new executive committee for the 2026-27 term was held on Sunday.

The finance minister was scheduled to attend the event at the Institution of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh, in Kakrail at 4pm, but could not do so due to illness. He also reportedly cancelled other engagements scheduled for the evening.

“The minister is receiving treatment at home and is now feeling much better,” Selim added.
