Sohail who killed in tragic launch accident becomes father

A baby boy has been born to the wife of Sohail Fakir, who was killed in the tragic launch accident while returning home from Dhaka for Eid-ul-Fitr. On March 19, Sohail Fakir and his father, Miraj Fakir, lost their lives in the devastating launch accident at Sadarghat, Dhaka.

The heartbreaking deaths of both father and son cast a shadow of grief over their hometown in the Mehendiganj area of Barishal.

According to sources, Sohail Fakir’s wife was also seriously injured in the tragic Sadarghat launch accident. However, in the early hours of Wednesday (June 9), she safely gave birth to a baby boy. It is the first and only baby of the couple.

Speaking to Asia Post, Md. Abul Based, uncle of Sohail and a staff member of the Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) cafeteria, said that after giving birth, Sohail’s wife, Rupa Akter (20), is currently receiving treatment at a Barishal Hospital.

The newborn has been named Md. Raihan Fakir. Both mother and son are reported to be in good health.
