PM gives financial assistance to mosques, temples in Dhaka-17

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Friday (11 September) provided financial assistance to different religious institutions in Dhaka-17 constituency, including mosques and madrassas as well as temples of Hindu community.

The Prime Minister handed over cheques to representatives of the concerned mosques and temples at the BNP Chairperson’s Office in Gulshan this afternoon, said his Deputy Press Secretary Md. Suzauddhowla (Sujon Mahmud).

A total of 28 mosques in Dhaka-17 received Taka 2.47 lakh each, while 10 temples were given Taka 3 lakh each on the occasion of the upcoming Durga Puja.

The financial assistance to mosques was provided to support the activities of the religious institutions. Temples were given the amount to help arrange the Durga Puja smoothly, deputy press secretary said.
