Government to take stern action to prevent sodomy in Madrasahs

Government will take stern action to prevent sodomy and indecent incidents in Madrasahs, said Religious Affairs Minister Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain Kaikobad.

“Such heinous acts should not be take place in pthe sacred places like Madrasah. I have directed to Imams to deliver awareness sermons over the issue,” the minister said it to journalists on Saturday (24 October).

The minister talked to media at Agargaon in the capital after attending triennial council session of Jatiyo Imam Samity (National Imam council).

Earlier, the minister said to the Imams came from across the country in the council that everyone have to stay alert so that no one could harm the inter-religious harmony of the country through any type of provocations.

He also urged the Imams to address issues including drug abusing, terrorism and such other negative activities, in their Jummah sermons.

He said as the Imams have extensive acceptance in the society, they have to make people aware over these harmful issues.
