PM apologizes for people's sufferings from power crisis

Prime Minister and BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman has expresses apologize for the present gas and power shortages across the country.

The Prime Minister said he felt the sufferings of the people and say sorry to the victimized people.

In the same time, Tarique Rahman also said that a party is now trying to provoke the people keeping this crisis as their capital.

Tarique Rahman said these while, addressed a discussion organised to mark the 48th founding anniversary of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) in the capital on Saturday (5 September).

The prime minister warned that actions to be taken against those who tried to create anarchies and asked all to stay in their limits.

The discussion began at around 3:45pm at Bangladesh Krishibid Institution auditorium in the capital with recitation from the Holy Quran, under the slogan, “Korbo Kaj, Gorbo Desh, Shobar Age Bangladesh” (We will work, build the country, Bangladesh first).

At the outset, a one-minute silence was observed in memory of BNP founder Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, former BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and all martyrs.

The programme then featured the national anthem, followed by the party anthem. A documentary on the 48-year-old party was also screened.

Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman founded BNP on September 1, 1978.

The five-day central programme marking the party’s founding anniversary, which began last Tuesday, will conclude today with the discussion.

BNP Acting Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi is presiding over the discussion. BNP Central Publicity Secretary and State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Sultan Salauddin Tuku is conducting the discussion.

Economist Mahbub Ullah, BNP Standing Committee members Mirza Abbas, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan, Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, Salahuddin Ahmed, Selima Rahman, Dr AZM Zahid Hossain, Md Aman Ullah Aman, Farhad Haleem and Md Ismail Zabiullah are attending the programme.

Members of the BNP National Standing Committee and invited eminent personalities are taking part in the discussion.
