Gold prices reduced again in Bangladesh

Gold prices have been reduced again in the local market in Bangladesh.
The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) announced the price reduction on Monday (5 October).
According to the BAJUS announcement, the price of 22-karat gold has been set at Tk 229,081 per bhori (11.664 grams), down by Tk 1,691, including value-added tax (VAT).
The revised prices came into effect at 10:00am on Monday.
The price reduction was announced following a decline in the prices of pure and refined gold in the international market, according to a BAJUS press release.
The price of 22-karat gold has been fixed at Tk 19,640 per gram, the release said.
Previously, 22-karat gold was sold at Tk 230,772 per bhori.
Meanwhile, the price of 21-karat gold has been reduced by Tk 1,574 to Tk 218,817 per bhori, from the previous price of Tk 220,391.
The price of 18-karat gold has also been cut by Tk 1,341 to Tk 187,907 per bhori, down from Tk 189,248.
In addition, the price of gold ornaments made using the traditional method has been reduced by Tk 758 per bhori to Tk 153,498. The previous price was Tk 154,256 per bhori.
Meanwhile, silver prices remain unchanged. A bhori of 22-karat silver is being sold at Tk 4,316, while the price per gram stands at Tk 370.
