Two-day long entrepreneurship training for women held

A two-day training programme on "Small Business Management and Entrepreneurship Development", organized by Nari Unnayan Shakti (NUS) with financial support from the Bangladesh NGO Foundation (BNF), concluded on Sunday with the distribution of business start-up capital to 18 women entrepreneurs.

The training was held on August 1–2, 2026, while the closing ceremony and capital distribution took place on August 2 at the NUS Training Centre in Sipahibag Bazar, Khilgaon, Dhaka.

Managing Director of Bangladesh NGO Foundation, Md. Shahjahan, attended the event as the chief guest. The programme was chaired by Dr. Afroja Pravin, Executive Director of Nari Unnayan Shakti.

The initiative aimed to strengthen the business management, financial planning, market analysis, and entrepreneurial skills of low-income, low-literacy, and aspiring women entrepreneurs. Organizers said the programme was designed to promote self-employment and enhance women's economic participation by equipping them with the knowledge and resources needed to start or expand small businesses.

Following the completion of the training, 18 selected women entrepreneurs received business start-up capital to establish or expand their enterprises. The organizers said the support would help create sustainable self-employment opportunities, increase household incomes, improve financial security, and contribute to local economic development.

Speaking at the event, the guests highlighted the importance of investing in women's entrepreneurship through skills development, business training, and improved access to financial resources. They said such initiatives are essential for promoting sustainable livelihoods, generating employment, and advancing inclusive economic growth in Bangladesh.

The programme was implemented by Nari Unnayan Shakti under the financial assistance of the Bangladesh NGO Foundation as part of its efforts to promote women's economic empowerment and entrepreneurship across the country.
