Gold prices reduce in Bangladesh market

Gold prices have been reduced in the domestic market. The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has decided to cut the price by Tk 2,216 per bhori (11.664 grams).
The information was announced in a BAJUS statement issued on Monday (July 13). The new prices took effect from today.
Under the revised rates, including VAT, the price of 22-carat gold has been set at Tk 221,966 per bhori. The price of 21-carat gold is Tk 211,993 per bhori, 18-carat gold is Tk 182,075 per bhori, and traditional-method gold is Tk 148,774 per bhori.
BAJUS said the revised prices will remain effective at all jewellery stores until further notice. However, making charges will vary depending on the design of the jewellery. As VAT is already included in the selling price of gold and silver jewellery, customers cannot be charged VAT separately. The association also said its existing rules on the exchange and purchase of jewellery—excluding specified VAT, making charges, and the value of stones—will remain unchanged.
Previously, BAJUS revised gold prices on the morning of July 10, increasing the price by Tk 2,216 per bhori. Following that adjustment, the price of 22-carat gold, including VAT, was set at Tk 224,182 per bhori.
At that time, 21-carat gold was priced at Tk 214,093 per bhori, 18-carat gold at Tk 183,883 per bhori, and traditional-method gold at Tk 150,232 per bhori. Those rates came into effect from 10:00 am on the same day.
