Furnace oil price reduces

The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has reduced the retail price of furnace oil used for electricity generation by Tk 4.44 per litre for July, while keeping the prices of diesel and kerosene unchanged.
The information was announced in a BERC notification issued on Tuesday (June 30).
According to the notification, the retail price of furnace oil has been reduced from Tk 113.54 per litre to Tk 109.10 per litre, a decrease of Tk 4.44 per litre. The new price came into effect at 12:00 am on July 1.
Previously, in May, the price of furnace oil had been revised upward from Tk 94.69 per litre to Tk 113.54 per litre.
The Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) supplies furnace oil to the Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB), government and private power plants, industrial facilities, and other consumers.
