Jet fuel prices reduce further in Bangladesh

The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has further reduced the price of jet fuel used by airlines in the domestic market.
The revised rates were announced in a notification signed by BERC Secretary Md. Nazrul Islam Sarkar on Tuesday (July 7). The new prices will take effect from 12:00 am Tuesday night and will remain in force until further notice.
Under the new decision, the price of jet fuel for domestic flights has been reduced to Tk 130.99 per litre for July, down from Tk 150.21 per litre. This marks a decrease of Tk 19.22 per litre.
For international flights, the jet fuel price has been cut from US$0.9808 per litre to US$0.8556 per litre.
Previously, on June 7, BERC had lowered the domestic jet fuel price from Tk 165.88 per litre to Tk 150.21 per litre. At the same time, the price for international airlines was reduced from US$1.0823 per litre to US$0.9808 per litre.
The revised domestic jet fuel prices apply to Bangladeshi carriers operating domestic flights, while the international rate is applicable to both local and foreign airlines refueling at Hazrat Shah Amanat International Airport in Chattogram, Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka, Jashore Airport, Osmani International Airport in Sylhet, Cox's Bazar Airport, as well as any future airports that become operational.
