What gold selling for today in reducing prices

In line with the international market, gold and silver prices in Bangladesh have been fluctuating almost daily. Accordingly, the latest prices are in effect today, Wednesday (July 29), for both precious metals.
The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) on Tuesday (July 28) decided to reduce gold prices in the local market. The price of gold has been cut by Tk 1,516 per bhori (11.664 grams), bringing the price of 22-carat gold to Tk 221,858 per bhori.
The revised prices came into effect at 10:00 am on Tuesday and will remain effective until BAJUS announces another adjustment.
According to BAJUS, the new prices were set following a decline in the prices of pure gold and silver in the local market, based on the recommendation of its Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring.
Under the new rates, including VAT, the price of hallmark 22-carat gold has been fixed at Tk 221,858 per bhori (11.664 grams). The price of 21-carat gold is Tk 211,934 per bhori, while 18-carat gold is selling at Tk 181,189 per bhori. Gold produced under the traditional method is priced at Tk 148,016 per bhori.
For silver, the price of hallmark 22-carat silver has been set at Tk 4,607 per bhori. The price of 21-carat silver is Tk 4,374 per bhori, 18-carat silver is Tk 3,791 per bhori, and traditionally produced silver is priced at Tk 2,858 per bhori.
BAJUS said the revised prices will remain effective at all jewelry stores across the country until further notice. Since VAT is already included in the selling price of gold and silver ornaments, customers cannot be charged VAT separately. However, making charges or labor costs will be added separately depending on the design of the jewelry.
