Strong winds of up to 60 km/h may sweep across nine regions of Bangladesh. Gusty or squally winds accompanied by rain or thunderstorms are also likely. The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has advised river ports in the affected areas to hoist Local Cautionary Signal No. 1.

According to the inland river port forecast issued on Tuesday (July 28), valid from 5:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., the warning was signed by meteorologist Md. Abdul Hamid Mia.

The forecast says that the regions of Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Mymensingh, and Sylhet may experience temporary gusty or squally winds from the south or southeast at speeds of 45–60 km/h, along with rain or thundershowers.

In view of the weather conditions, the Meteorological Department has instructed the river ports in these regions to continue displaying Local Cautionary Signal No. 1.
