Storm forecast for 9 regions by noon

Temporary rain or thundershowers accompanied by gusty or squally winds of up to 60 km/h may affect nine regions of Bangladesh by noon today. The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has advised river ports in the affected areas to display Local Cautionary Signal No. 1.
According to the inland river port forecast issued on Wednesday (July 29), valid from 5:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., the warning applies to the regions of Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mymensingh, and Sylhet.
The forecast said these regions may experience temporary rain or thundershowers with gusty or squally winds blowing from the south or southeast at speeds of 45–60 km/h.
In light of the forecast, river ports in the affected regions have been instructed to continue displaying Local Cautionary Signal No. 1.
