Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has predicted that rainfall is likely to increase across the country over the next five days commencing 9 am on Tuesday (8 September) as monsoon is less active over Bangladesh.

“Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at a few places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy falls at places over the country,” said a Met office bulletin.

Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

The axis of monsoon troughs runs through Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across northern part of Bangladesh.

One of its associated troughs extends up to North Bay. Monsoon is less active over the country and moderate over North Bay.
