Storm warning in 6 districts, warning signal 3 in seaports

Squally winds with a speed of 45 to 60 kilometers per hour are likely to blow over six districts of the country, the Meteorological Department said. At the same time, there may be thunderstorms.

The information was given in the forecast for the country's inland waterways from 9 am to 6 pm on Saturday (July 25).

Squally weather is likely to affect the regions of Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Comilla, Chattogram and Cox's Bazar by evening.

Meanwhile, a low pressure area has formed over the Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas. Under its influence, squally weather is likely to affect the maritime ports and the coastal areas of Bangladesh. In this situation, the Meteorological Department has asked four seaports to show local warning signal number 3.

According to the Meteorological Department, a low pressure area has formed over northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Gangetic West Bengal and north Odisha coasts. Under its influence, squally weather is likely to affect the North Bay, maritime ports and coastal areas of Bangladesh.

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has advised the seaports of Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra to keep hoisted local cautionary signal number 3.

Fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay have to come close to the coast and proceed with caution. The Meteorological Department has also advised to take necessary precautions keeping an eye on the situation.
