How to know if milk pure or adulterated

At present, recognizing pure milk has become a big challenge for many. There are allegations of mixing water, detergent or other harmful ingredients in milk at different times in the market.
Regular consumption of these adulterated milk can pose serious health risks. However, if you know some simple home remedies, it is possible to understand a lot whether the milk is pure or adulterated.
The most commonly adulterated substance in milk is water. An easy way to catch it is to spill a drop of milk on a smooth and clean surface. If the milk rolls slowly and leaves white spots, it is usually considered relatively pure. And if it rolls quickly and does not leave any stains, then there is a possibility of mixing water in it.
Many times detergents are mixed in milk to form foam or increase the concentration, which is very harmful to health. To identify it, take a little milk in a glass glass and mix it with equal amount of water. If a small amount of foam is formed naturally and dissolves quickly, it is usually fine. But if excessive and permanent foam is formed, it can be an indication of adulteration.
An iodine test can also be done to understand if starch has been added to the milk. If a few drops of iodine in a little milk turns blue, then it should be understood that starch has been mixed in it.
Smell and taste also play an important role in identifying synthetic milk. Pure milk has a normal sweet smell, while adulterated milk may have an unusual smell or soapy-like feeling. If you look too slippery when rubbing your fingers, it can also be a sign of adulteration.
Some changes can also be felt when the milk is heated. Pure milk usually retains its normal color, but unusual changes can be observed in adulterated milk.
All in all, with a little caution and some home tests, it is possible to easily get an idea of the quality of milk. However, it is safest to collect milk from a reliable source to be sure.
