How to add your home address to Google Maps

Google Maps is very helpful in our daily lives when it comes to finding locations. Adding your home address to Google Maps can make it easier to search for your location and get directions. It is also useful when you want to share your home address with others.

Whenever you move to a new home, you can easily edit the address. You can either mark the location directly with a pin on Google Maps or enter the new address.

What to Do If Your Home Address Is Not on Google Maps

There is an option to add a home's address to Google Maps. First, open Google Maps and identify the relevant area using the search bar. Then select the option to add a new place. Enter the name, address and appropriate category or type of the place.

After entering the necessary name, address and proper category or type, tap the ‘Submit’ option.

The information will then be sent to Google for review.

How to Add Your Home Address

First, open the Google Maps app on your tablet or mobile phone. Then follow the steps below:

1. Tap the ‘Saved’ option at the bottom of the screen.

2. Select the ‘Labeled’ option from the list.

3. Tap the three dots next to ‘Home’.

4. To add a new address, select the ‘Add home’ option.

5. Now enter your home address. You can also use the ‘Select on map’ option to mark the location directly with a pin.

6. Check the address and location. If everything is correct, tap the ‘Save’ option.

In this way, your home address can be saved in Google Maps. After that, it will be easier to get directions by simply selecting ‘Home’ whenever necessary.

How to Change Your Home Address

If you move to a new home, you should also update your address in Google Maps.

To do this, open the Google Maps app and tap your profile picture in the upper-right corner.

Then select the ‘Home’ option from ‘Settings’. After tapping the three dots next to ‘Home’, select ‘Edit home’.

Enter the new address after removing the old one. If Google Maps shows a list of possible addresses, select the correct one.

If you cannot find the address, you can mark the location directly with a pin at the appropriate place on the map.

After checking all the information, tap the ‘Save’ option.

Once your home address is saved in Google Maps, you will not need to search for or enter the address every time. It will be easier to find your location from an unfamiliar place or share your location with others.

After moving to a new home, you should not keep the old address saved in Google Maps. Instead, update it with your new location. This will help prevent the risk of someone going to or sending someone or something to your old address.
