US Embassy in Dhaka has issued a new warning for foreign nationals planning to travel to the United States. It stated that anyone who misuses or becomes dependent on taxpayer-funded public assistance programs in the U.S. may face strict consequences, including visa cancellation.

According to a notice published on the verified Facebook page of the U.S. Embassy in Dhaka on Saturday (June 27), foreign visitors who abuse or rely on public welfare benefits funded by U.S. taxpayers will be subject to strict legal action.

The embassy emphasized that this policy applies to all categories of nonimmigrant visa holders, including those traveling for tourism, business, study, journalism, or transit. Violators may have their visas revoked and could also become ineligible for future U.S. visas.

The embassy also stressed that travelers should ensure, before their trip, that they have sufficient financial means to cover their own expenses while staying in the United States.
