Six Bangladeshi nationals were killed in a devastating fire that broke out at a shop in Queenstown, located in South Africa's Eastern Cape province. Another Bangladeshi sustained burn injuries and is currently receiving treatment at a local hospital.

The fire occurred at around 3:00 a.m. local time on Tuesday (July 28).

According to preliminary information, the victims were asleep inside the shop when the fire broke out. As the flames spread rapidly, they were unable to escape and died at the scene.

The injured Bangladeshi was rescued and taken to a nearby hospital, where he remains under medical care.

The exact cause of the fire has not yet been determined. Local authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.
