11-party alliance announces long march

Jamaat-e-Islami led 11-party alliance announced a long march programme to press home the verdict of the referendum.

Leader of the opposition and Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman announced this from the alliance’s sit-in-programme in the capital’s Muktangan on Thursday (6 August).

Besides, the Jamaat Ameer, Opposition Chief Whip and NCP Convener Nahid Islam, Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) President Colonel (retd) Dr. Oli Ahmed, Labor Party Chairman Dr. Mustafizur Rahman Iran, Jamaat Secretary General Professor Mia Golam Parwar, among others, were present in the programme.

The alliance leaders said in the programme that they have announced the fresh movement as part of its constant agitations to quick implementation of July mass killing justice, to develop law and order situation, to stop politicization, to contain inflation, to solve power, oil and gas crisis.

As per the announcement programme, the alliance will observe:

5 September (Saturday): Dhaka to Chattogram long march through road.

19 September (Saturday): Dhaka to Rangpur long march through road.

10 October (Saturday): Dhaka to Khulna long march through road.

24 October (Saturday): Dhaka to Sylhet long march through railway.

14 October (Saturday): Grand rally at Dhaka.

Leaders of the 11-party alliance said, in a bid to establish people’s fair right and to protect interest of the people and the nation their movement will be continued until the people’s demand is met. They sought the full support from all the countrymen.
