BNP’s activities create rift in anti-fascist unity: Jamaat Ameer

Leader of the opposition and Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has said the ruling BNP’s activities have created rifts in the unity of anti-fascist political parties.

The opposition leader said this on Wednesday (23 September) at a view exchange meeting with journalists at Al Falah Auditorium in Moghbazar in the capital.

He said the government has an opportunity to become acceptable to the people by implementing the July Charter and the verdict of the referendum.

But the government has become alienated from the people by ignoring the implementation of the people’s verdict.

“Not only that, the media has turned away from constructive criticism of the government. As a result, the acceptance of the media among the people is also declining,” the opposition leader said.

Dr. Shafique said Jamaat wants to initiate a civic political culture in the country.

Jamaat MPs would not take any additional facilities from the government.

Besides, Jamaat would also oppose any step to increase the salaries of MPs.
