Rizvi nomitated BNP acting Secretary General

Newly adopted BNP Standing Committee Member Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has been nominated as the Acting Secretary General of the ruling party.
Party’s Secretary General Mirza Fakhurl Islam Alamgir on Thursday elected the country’s 23rd President.
Earlier on 13 August, Mirza Fakhrul resigned from the posts of the Secretary General and the party’s member as the party on the day nominated him as the presidential candidate.
The decision came during the BNP's senior leaders meeting with its Chairman and the Prime Minister Tarique Rahman at the Secretariat.
BNP Senior Joint-Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi revealed the decision to journalists after the meeting in the secretariat at the noon.
Meanwhile, BNP Senior Joint-Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has been promoted as the member of the party’s highest policy making body the National Standing Committee with three others on 15 August.
Insiders said, the party is awaiting to finalise its next Secretary General.
Several leaders are in discussion to be nominated as the party’s next Secretary General including Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, party’s standing committee member Salahuddin Ahmed and its Joint-Secretary General Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Ane.
