Muktijoddha Dal Vice-President Hanif Mia honoured at reception

Mohammad Hanif Mia, chairman of Matribhumi Group and a valiant freedom fighter, has been appointed Vice-President of the central committee of the Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Muktijoddha Dal (BNP’s Freedom Fighters’ Wing).

At a meeting of the executive committee of the central committee of Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Muktijoddha Dal on June 16, he was unanimously promoted from Joint General Secretary to Vice-President of the central committee.

A letter signed by Muktijoddha Dal President Ishtiaq Aziz Ulphat regarding his promotion was handed over to him on July 30. In the letter, the president expressed hope that the promotion would help accelerate the activities of the BNP and the Jatiyatabadi Muktijoddha Dal in the days ahead and wished him every success.

Following the promotion of Matribhumi Group Chairman and valiant freedom fighter Mohammad Hanif Mia, Matribhumi Group organized a simple reception at its office on Tuesday (August 18). The group’s Managing Director Engineer Md. Mainuddin Mia presented him with a bouquet of flowers.

Speaking on the occasion, an emotional Hanif Mia expressed gratitude to Prime Minister and Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairman Tarique Rahman and Muktijoddha Dal President Ishtiaq Aziz Ulphat for his promotion.

“I fought in the Liberation War for the country’s independence and sovereignty when I was young. Now, in the final phase of my life, I want to contribute to nation-building under the guidance of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman,” he said.

He also said he wanted to play a leading role through Matribhoomi Group in the country’s economic development, infrastructure transformation and solving the unemployment problem.

Among others, Matribhoomi Group Director (Finance) Md. Firoz Alam, Director (Procurement) Md. Mohiuddin Mia, Director (Marketing) Md. Zahirul Islam, Consultant Hasan Abdullah, Executive Director Tariqul Islam, and officials and employees of the group were present at the reception.
