NCP leader beaten up with shoes for making derogatory remarks to female students, teachers

A leader of the Jatiya Nagarik Party (NCP) has been beaten up with shoes in Bogura for misbehaving with female trainees. The video has been circulated on social media and the leader has been issued a show-cause notice to the party.
A letter signed by NCP's Bogra district unit organising secretary Shawkat Imran on Friday night (May 29) issued a show-cause notice to him.
The name of the relieved leader is Ali Azam Sabbir. He is a coordinating member of NCP Shibganj Upazila Coordination Team.
Sabbir is a trainee of a driving training course at Bogra Technical Training Center (TTC). Some of the female trainees alleged that he used to send objectionable messages on their mobile phones and behave indecently. Later, on May 24, some female trainees detained him in a room of the TTC. Later, a female trainee beat Sabbir with shoes. The video of the incident went viral on social media.
TTC driving instructor Rashedul Hasan said the incident took place after allegations of indecent behaviour with female trainees. Later, Ali Azam Sabbir confessed his guilt in writing.
He said necessary action will be taken against him as per the decision of the Academic Council after the opening of the institution.
NCP district organising secretary Shawkat Imran said Sabbir was relieved of all organisational duties after the allegations came to their notice. He has been given three days to explain his position.
