Attack on NCP rally in Habiganj leaves several injured, including Sarjis and Nasiruddin

Several leaders and activists of the National Citizen Party (NCP), including Nasiruddin Patwari and Sarjis Alam, were injured after their convoy came under attack during the party's "July March" in Habiganj.

The NCP alleged that the attack was carried out by local leaders and activists of the BNP. Several journalists were also reportedly injured in the incident.

The attack took place inside the Habiganj District Circuit House on Tuesday (July 28) afternoon.

Describing the incident, NCP spokesperson Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan said in a post on his verified Facebook page that the party's media team microbus was vandalized inside the district circuit house. He also alleged that the attackers snatched mobile phones and cameras from journalists.

In the same Facebook post, Asif Mahmud further claimed that the attack occurred in the presence of police. He described the incident, which took place inside a state facility, as a disturbing example of political violence.
