Two attacks on NCP motorcade within 20 minutes in Sylhet

The motorcade of the National Citizen Party (NCP) came under attack twice within 20 minutes in Sylhet on Thursday.
The attacks took place in the Golapganj and Panchmile areas of the district.
NCP Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwari wrote in a Facebook post: "Two attacks within 20 minutes in Sylhet. Is this the rule of law?"
Meanwhile, NCP Chief Organiser (North Region) Sarjis Alam alleged that these attack incidents would take place without Prime Minister Tarique Rahman's signal.
"Chhatra Dal and Jubo Dal leaders must not do these without getting signal from Tarique Rahman," Sarjis said while talking to journalists after two times attack incident.
Earlier Sarjis Alam wrote in a social media post: "BNP terrorists have attacked us again in Panchmile Bazar. Does Tarique Rahman want to become Sheikh Hasina?"
He also wrote in another social media post: "BNP terrorists have again carried out a bloody attack on our vehicles. They have vandalised our cars."
Witnesses said the attacks occurred after NCP leaders attended a meeting with the families of the July martyrs in the Golapganj municipality area.
According to witnesses, leaders and activists of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal attacked NCP leaders in the presence of police. They allegedly hurled bricks and water bottles at the NCP leaders and their vehicles. The NCP leaders quickly left the area while the attackers chased their motorcade.
NCP Sylhet district Convener Zuned Ahmed alleged that BNP activists attacked them in the presence of police, who did not take any action to stop the attackers.
"We strongly protest this," he said.
