Government failed on three priority issues in its 180-day plan: Nahid

Opposition Chief Whip and National Citizen Party (NCP) Convener Nahid Islam has said the BNP government has failed to address three priority issues outlined in its 180-day plan.

Nahid Islam made the remarks at a press conference at the NCP central office in Banglamotor on Monday (24 August).

The Opposition Chief Whip said the BNP government adopted the 180-day plan at its first Cabinet meeting on February 17.

The plan prioritised controlling the prices of essential commodities, improving law and order, and ensuring a smooth supply of power and energy. However, the government has largely failed to address these three issues over the past six months, he said.

“The government has crossed 180 days. We have organised this press conference to discuss the political and economic situation and assess the government’s performance during this period,” Nahid said.

He said the government had also published an e-book outlining its performance during the period.

“We have seen that most of the promises made by the government could not be implemented within the 180-day timeframe,” the NCP convener said.

“There is no accountability for the crises that have been created in the country,” he added.

Nahid also alleged that the government was claiming success despite failing to deliver on its commitments.
