MUNA Parkchester Chapter holds family reunion

The Parkchester chapter of the Muslim Ummah of North America (MUNA) organized a daylong family reunion at Croton Point Park Pavilion.
The event hold on on 16 August featured discussions, exchange of views, sports, games and various other recreational activities, bringing together MUNA's central and local leaders, members and their families.
MUNA Parkchester Chapter President Shahjalal Chowdhury presided over the programme, while Bangladesh Lawyers Council Vice-President Advocate Ahsanul Mahbub Zubair was the chief guest.
Chapter Secretary Rezaul Karim moderated the programme.
Hafiz Abdullah Al Arif, Assistant Executive Director of MUNA; Assistant Education Director Rasheduzzaman; and New York North Zone Secretary Nurus Samad attended the event as special guests.
Fahim Miah, president of the Youth Chapter, recited verses from the Holy Quran.
In his speech, Ahsanul Mahbub Zubair said such gatherings provide an opportunity to strengthen brotherhood, harmony, intimacy and mutual respect amid the busy lives of people in the diaspora.
“MUNA is not merely an organization; it is a platform for advancement, mutual assistance, human values and Islamic brotherhood,” Zubair said.
“We have to play a role in the welfare of society and humanity. In particular, we have to connect the young generation with values, culture and moral education,” he added.
Central and local MUNA leaders also addressed the event, emphasizing the dynamism of organizational activities and the importance of strengthening mutual relations, brotherhood and harmony.
The daylong gathering became vibrant with the participation of children, young people and adults of all ages in various discussions, recreational activities, sports and games.
